I don’t think there’s a parent out there who hasn’t hugged their child a little tighter and a little longer in these past 24 hours. We were looking for a way to help the Sandy Hook survivors, and honestly, I’m not sure anything material would go very far in that regard. But from a distance, it’s difficult to do anything more, and if there’s a chance an unexpected gift could bring a smile or provide a distraction from the horror in that small community, I think it’s worth a try. I’ve read a few articles about the Newtown Youth & Family Services in Sandy Hook, CT collecting donations, and their website lists their address to mail donations. I’m not sure they’d expect a bunch of toys showing up at their door, but I’m pretty certain they’d know what to do with them. I think we’ll ship a little order directly from Amazon, and they also accept PayPal donations on their website as well. Our prayers are with them. Dec

Speaking of video games, Amazon has a nice little deal for Amazon Mom members today too. Amazon has the Disney version of the Just Dance Wii and XBox360 game on sale for $20, and Amazon Mom members can use coupon code DANCEMOM for another $10 off, making it just $10- 66% off it’s original $30! I haven’t seen this version in person, but I will say that the other versions of Just Dance are pretty much my favorite workout! Make sure that you’re adding the game sold by “Amazon.com” to your cart (and not a third-party seller) to be able to apply the coupon. It looks like they’re backordered for now, but you can still order at this price and they’ll ship it when it’s back in stock.
