Palette Plate & Date Night?

I really love the idea of this one. Every time I want to pick up a jolly ol’ Christmas cookie taunting me from the kitchen, I remind myself that there’s a difference between food that only stops a hunger and food that nourishes a body. (Or the third option: persuasive once-a-year cookies). That’s why I love that Skip Hop’s Palette Plate makes a big deal out of color and portions and variety. What a gift to grow up appreciating food for it’s ability to nourish- I think this could be a good teaching tool for that. It’s originally $28, but on a rare sale at Amazon for 33% off- $18.75!

I’m also intrigued today by a deal at daily-deal site Plum District (sort of like Groupon, if you’ve never been over there). They’re offering a $20 Starbucks gift card and 2 Fandango movie tickets ($24) for $28- sounds like a perfect date night to me!
